What is an email group?
An email group is a great way of sharing ideas and keeping in touch with other members via email. Every email sent using the group email address goes to all members of the group. This means you can start a discussion, follow a discussion and join in if you have something to say to the group.
What are the benefits?
· Share good practice ideas with other learning disability nurses
· Discuss ideas or problems you may have - or help another nurse
The RNLDs email group
The NNLDN joined with the RNLDs email group in 2002. Rather than start a new email group just for NNLDN members, we felt it was better to join this group as our aims are the same. The RNLDs email group was set up for UK learning disability nurses to share any relevant information, research or views. The co-ordinator of this group is Fiona Law, a community learning disability nurse and NNLDN member who is also the webmaster of this site.
How do I sign up?
- Connect to the internet and go to http://groups.yahoo.com
- Under the "Join a Group" heading, type RNLDs in the search field and press the search button
- A link to RNLDs will come up. Click on the link to see more information about the group
- Click on the "join" link
- Now follow the on-screen instructions. You will need to join yahoo before you can join the group, but signing up is easy and free
- Yahoo will send you a confirmation email to let you know you have joined successfully
- Now you will receive the next email that anyone in the group sends. If you want to start a discussion or ask everyone a question use RNLDs@yahoogroups.com in the "To" field in your email programme
